SI-RITEA Grant Recipients
The Schiller Institute Grants for Research in Targeted and Emerging Areas (SI-RITEA), first awarded in 2024, support research in specific, timely areas of interest, which are updated annually. This grant program focuses on two distinct programmatic areas, addressing pressing and evolving societal challenges. For FY25, the Schiller Institute awarded 5 grants to faculty members across campus. Grantees are awarded up to $40K to support collaborative work in the Global South and in Massachusetts.
SI-RITEA FY25
During the 2024-25 academic year, the Schiller Institute awarded 5 projects totaling over $145K. Projects addressed healthcare as a common good, conservation and infrastructure in Patagonia, the four-day workweek, climate warning labels on gas pumps, and climate justice literacy in school.
SI-RITEA FY24
In the SI-RITEA program鈥檚 inaugural year, the Schiller Institute awarded 10 projects totaling over $285K. Projects addressed water purification, climate resilience and wellbeing, children鈥檚 health, new partnerships with local organizations, and more.
