Please follow the below steps now that you have been admitted.
We ask that you pay extra close attention to step 3 and instructions regarding your final transcripts.

Step 1: Respond to offer of your admission

Please indicate your enrollment decision through the online link in your status update email.Ìý

Step 2: Submit your application for financial aid & schedule a time with your Financial Aid Counselor

Submit your Financial Aid Application Documents. Visit the Office of Financial Aid website to begin the process.

Schedule a time to meet with your financial aid counselor.

Find your counselor's name.

Step 3: Submit your final transcript

Now that you have been admitted to the ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ Woods College of Advancing Studies, the admissions office requires that you submit certain official documents. Below you will find further details on how to submit these required documents.ÌýFirst, please read the following important information concerning the submission of official documents:

Transcripts and test scores are only deemed official if they come directly to our office from the conferring institution and testing agency. Any documents that you, the applicant, uploaded into the application system are not official. Similarly, documents that are delivered to our office in envelopes opened by the applicant are not official. Even if the institution sent or emailed you an official document, once you, the applicant, has opened the envelope or forwarded the email to us, it is no longer considered an official document for our purposes.

We will accept either electronic or paper versions of official documents. If they are being sent via email from the institution, please be sure they are sent to wcasadm@bc.edu. If they will be sent via postal mail, please be sure to use the following address:

Following these steps will ensure that your document is not accidentally sent to one of the seven other admissions offices at ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ, from which it is unlikely to be retrieved.

Step 4: Register for New Student Orientation

Newly admitted students are invited to join an Orientation session to meet academic advisors, faculty, and staff.Ìý This meeting will allow you to ask questions before the semester begins and hear more about all of the wonderful opportunities for you as a Woods College student at ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ.

Orientations will be held the week before the first day of classes:

In August, for the Fall semester

In January, for the Spring semesterÌý

New students will receive the invitation by email.

Step 5: Review the New Student Checklist

  1. Learn more about Agora Portal and set up your ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ Gmail accountÌý
    • Note: You have 1 week to set up your Google 2-Step Verification after you first log in to your ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ Google Account
  2. Meet with your advisor and learn more about registering for classes.
  3. Apply for an Eagle One (ID) Card. All new students are required to have and will be charged for an ID card.
  4. Download the ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ VPN, Agora credentials are required.
  5. Familiarize yourself with (You will need your ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ username and password to log in)
  6. Activate your ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ Zoom Licensed Account.
  7. Waive mandatory medical insurance, if applicable.ÌýFor the Academic Year 2023-2024, all waivers must be submitted by September 22, 2023, for the entire academic year or by January 26, 2024, for the spring semester only. You do not need to waive insurance for the summer semester. Visit bc.edu/myservices and select "Medical Insurance Waiver."
  8. Complete the mandatory Immunization Forms.
  9. Order a Parking Permit (if applicable).
    • Read the Student Parking Permit Instructions on the Transportation website. You may order your parking permit by logging into Agora Portal and selecting "Parking Permits and Citations."
  10. Purchase an MBTA pass (if applicable).
  11. Consult Tuition and Fees.
  12. Review and pay any balances remaining on your My Bill account
  13. Enroll in the ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ Payment Plan (if applicable)
  14. Authorize your Third-Party Payer through My Bill (if applicable)
    • Note:ÌýYou will need to log intoÌýbc.edu/myservicesÌýand selectÌýMy BillÌýfor this service.
  15. Review the Title IV Federal Financial Aid Funds requirements and submit your (optional).
  16. In compliance with Massachusetts law, all incoming graduate students are required to complete a new online module on Title IX sexual misconduct. The instructions and deadline for completion of this module will be announced soon.
  17. Review information about off-campus housing.
  18. Update your addresses, phone numbers, and emergency contacts via , Account and Personal Info tab.
  19. View or update your race/ethnicity information via , Account and Personal Info tab.
  20. Note veteran status on the University Information System (optional/if applicable). Contact Linda Malenfant at linda.malenfant@bc.edu.
  21. Register to vote.

Step 6: Submit Declaration of Finances and I-20 documents (international students only)

International applicants who are officially accepted to WCAS and who plan to matriculate in a campus-based program in the U.S. are required to provide confirmation of available personal finances. Once an applicant has submitted the Enrollment Response Form, the form detailed below is required to be issued a valid I-20 from the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS).ÌýÌýPlease send an email toÌýwcasadm@bc.eduÌýwith "I-20 request" in the subject line and we will respond with a DCF form and list of items needed.

Confidential Declaration of Finances

This form verifies the student's ability to cover educational and living expenses and requires the applicant to specify the amounts and sources of funds, accompanied by official documentation, such as bank letters.Ìý If you have not yet received this form from WCAS, please email wcasadm@bc.edu directly.

Students holding the Student (F-1) or Exchange Visitor (J-1) Visas will not be authorized to work except under extraordinary circumstances; therefore, the applicant should not look to employment as a means of support while at ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ. Spouses who accompany students to the U.S. on the F-2 Visa are not permitted to accept any kind of employment in the U.S.

Visa Authorization

Provided this documentation is in order, ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ will issue a Certificate of Eligibility Form (Form I-20 for an F-1 Student Visa or Form DS2019 for a J-1 Exchange Visitor Visa) for your use in obtaining a Visa. OISS offers resources for incoming international students, including information on the Visa Application Process.

Step 7: Schedule a time to meet with your Academic Advisor

It is imperative that you schedule a time to meet with your academic advisor. Appointments are available Monday-Friday.
