Betsy Harris, MSW, LICSW, is a part-time faculty member for the ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ School of Social Work. She teaches Dialectical Behavior Therapy in Clinical Practice. She is a DBT-Linehan, Board of Certification, Certified Clinicianâ„¢.
Betsy has extensive experience providing individual and group psychotherapy for adolescents and adults with who struggle with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, self-harm, trauma and PSTD, suicidal ideation, and borderline personality disorder (BPD). She has trained in a number of treatment approaches, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Prolonged Exposure (PE, DBT-PE).
Betsy is the Director of DBT Services at the Mindfulness & Change Group in Watertown, Massachusetts. She specializes in DBT, PTSD, and developmental trauma recovery. She offers individual therapy, group therapy, and consultation services.
Betsy has practiced at residential and outpatient settings including McLean Hospital, Brandeis University, Stanford Hospital & Clinics, and Cambridge Health Alliance.
Betsy is interested in multiculturalism and examining the impact of race, culture, gender, and equality in identity development and in the therapeutic environment.
