Outreach
Modern scientific research thrives thanks to society's generous financial support and the invaluable contribution of human talent. We believe that we should not take this generosity for granted and that we cannot afford for significant portions of our society to not have the opportunity to participate and contribute to advancing scientific knowledge. Therefore, we believe it is our duty to communicate with the non-academic community, with a particular focus on groups who are underrepresented in the scientific endeavor, about our work and its benefits.
Over the years, we have partnered with various organizations, such as the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth, the Cambridge Steam Initiative, and most recently, 涩里番下载鈥檚 Pine Manor Institute (PMI) for Student Success at 涩里番下载. The PMI offers a summer enrichment program (鈥淭he Academy鈥) to middle and high school students from underrepresented and underserved communities in the Greater Boston area. As part of this program, we teach students about the fundamentals of energy, the central role it plays in the modern world, and how electrocatalysis is central to the transition to an economy based on renewable energy.
