, director of economic development and community initiatives at Ochsner Health, posted on LinkedIn about the launch of Ochsner’s in Baton Rouge. In the post, he celebrates the first cohort of students. “Introducing our future health care leaders,” Nelson says. “Our 13 students will be immersed into the world of health care while meeting leadership figures throughout the organization and learning about all of the career opportunities in the health care industry.”

CEMEX signed a three-year agreement to in collaboration with VeryNile. CEMEX and VeryNile are acting in support of an initiative by the Ministry of the Environment that develops eco-friendly solutions to remove inorganic waste from the river. Providing financial support, CEMEX will help double the amount of waste collected and contribute to the employment of more than 100 people in a nearby community, Qursaya. There are plans for the waste to be used as a more sustainable alternative to fossil fuels at CEMEX’s cement plant in Assiut as well as activities to raise awareness of pollution among citizens.

Export Development Canada (EDC) announced for its business portfolio and several sustainable financing objectives. Since the company made its commitment to net zero by 2050 last year, EDC has developed its strategy by setting 2030 sector targets for airlines and upstream oil and gas. The 2030 targets are aligned with the Paris Agreement Capital Transition Assessment (PACTA) for Banks methodology.

Kiddie Academy partnered with Family Promise, a New Jersey-based nonprofit working to prevent and end family homelessness, to launch the . Comprised of eight modules, the program will better equip Family Promise’s 250+ case managers with the necessary skills to provide the highest level of care and support to families. Other than supporting organization staff, the courses can also help licensed social workers earn continuing education credits. Additional modules are in development and to be launched in the upcoming months.

nVent posted on the and its partnership with Rise, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people with disabilities and other challenges find success in life. For the last four decades, a group of Rise employees has worked at the nVent facility in Anoka, Minnesota, through Rise’s community-based jobs program. nVent is Rise’s largest work site as well as its longest-tenured. Founded in 1971, Rise’s programs in Minnesota and Wisconsin take a whole-person approach, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible through supportive access to employment, housing and life-enrichment services. “We have nearly 70 Rise team members, and some have worked for us for more than 25 years,” said , an HR director at nVent and Rise board member. “You can’t help but smile when working with the Rise team as they have such pride in the work they do for our nVent HOFFMAN brand.”

Pitney Bowes has released its , highlighting the efforts the company has made in pursuit of its commitments to creating meaningful impact in local communities, achieving environmental sustainability, and more. In 2021, the company made continued efforts toward fueling its fleets with more sustainable alternatives, such as fuel with 2% and 11% biodiesel and diesel blend. The company mobilized teams in seven countries for programs advancing childhood literacy and educational opportunities through its volunteer program, Dedication to Education, and raised more than $1.4 million for other childhood education, summer learning, college readiness, and food insecurity programs.

PNC will invest $1.257 million over the next three years to the global nonprofit SheEO, in recognition of the . SheEO provides zero-interest loans to select women- and nonbinary-led ventures that seek to fulfill the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, addressing issues including education, food sustainability, waste reduction, energy efficiency, and more. “SheEO's mission directly aligns with one of the key drivers of our Project 257SM: Accelerating Women's Financial Equality initiative, providing equal access to credit to facilitate the start and growth of women-owned companies," said , head of women's business development for PNC. “When women-owned businesses thrive, we all thrive."

Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP recently announced its 2022-2023 class of the (WLI), which is now in its third year. WLI is a multi-stakeholder public service initiative connecting rising law school students an opportunity to work with leading nonprofits to tackle some of the nation’s most pressing social and legal challenges. Nonprofit partners include the Earthwatch Institute, the National Women’s Law Center, Human Rights Watch, the National Urban League, the Tahirih Justice Center and Asian Americans Advancing Justice.
