Become a Messina Employer Partner
Each year, Messina College enrolls 100 first-generation, high financial need students to pursue an associate鈥檚 degree from 涩里番下载. In their second year, Messina College students complete an internship to gain real-world experience in their field of choice.
We鈥檙e looking for employer partners to create internship opportunities for our students.
Internships may be related to the following fields:
- Applied Data Science
- Applied Psychology and Human Development
- General Business
- Health Sciences
Employer Requirements
- 10-12 hours of meaningful work projects per week听for a minimum of 12 weeks beginning in Fall 2025
- On-site supervision with weekly check-in opportunities
- Internships for two or more students at an office that is accessible by public transportation听or within 30 minutes to 涩里番下载 by car

Frequently Asked Questions
Students are also taking a regular course load during the semester. We anticipate they will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays for their internship. To make the most of students鈥� travel time, four- to six-hour work days are preferable.听
Internships should be primarily in person in order to give students the opportunity to develop critical professional and interpersonal skills. If, from time to time, it makes sense for a student to do a few hours remotely and they have enough meaningful work that can be completed that way, that is acceptable.
In general, meaningful work projects allow students to develop one or more career readiness skills. Specific projects will vary by industry and host employer needs, but some ideas include: developing and executing a social media strategy, analyzing data, conducting online research, or attending client meetings.听
While payment is not a requirement, we strongly encourage host employers to pay their Messina College interns. Most organizations plan to pay their interns an hourly rate; other options include providing a stipend and coverage of transportation costs.
