Student Parking
Students are expected to read and comply with ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ parking and traffic regulations.
Undergraduate parking is very limited. Freshman and Sophomore class are not eligible for a parking permit.
Permit pick up is at Student Services in Lyons Hall.
Permit Types & Eligibility
Students eligible to keep a car on campus are required to register their vehicles with the University. Learn more about the eligibility requirements for each permit type below.
SRF/SR-2 or SCA/SCA-2:ÌýCampus resident undergraduate student permits are only available to juniors and seniors receiving academic creditÌýrequired for graduation through a ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØÌýsponsored field practicum, clinical or three-credit internship in areasÌýnot accessibleÌýby public transportation. Confirmation from the practicum office or program advisor is required.
ÌýThe allotment for these permits is very limited. Permit location assigned based on availability. Students with jobs off campus are expected to use public transportation. Freshman and Sophomore class are not eligible for a parking permit unless granted a medical accommodation by the Office of Disability Services.
Once an undergraduate student is approved for a parking permit, they will receive an email from the Transportation & Parking office with instructions on how to register their vehicle and when to pick up the permit decal. Permit pick up is at Student Services in Lyons Hall.
SC:ÌýCommuter permits are available to undergraduate students living off campus at a radius greater than one mile from public transportation lines. Students living in the following cities or towns do not meet this commuter distance requirement and will not qualify for a commuter parking permit:
- Allston
- Boston
- Brighton
- Brookline
- Chestnut Hill
Ìý
Students are expected to use their personal academic-year address, not the address of a family or friend, when applying for a parking permit. Those failing to honestly provide an accurate academic-year address for parking permit application risk disciplinary action, including loss of parking privileges at ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ without a refund.
At time of application, an undergraduate commuter student must submit to the Office of Student Services:
- Commuter Permit applicationÌý(download a PDF version of the application)
- Proof of Insurance listing the student as an insured driver of the registered vehicle
- Vehicle registration in the undergraduate student's name or that of an immediate family member
- Proof of qualifying residency in the undergraduate's name, such as a lease, bank statement, or utility bill
