The McCrory-Francis Scholars Program was established in 1979 and has a proven record of success in the retention and graduation of students at ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ.ÌýMcCrory-FrancisÌýScholars participate in a seven-week academic program in the summer prior to their first semester at ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ and continue to receive support from through the remainder of their time at ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ.

The Undergraduate Admission Office selects a diverse group of students based on a rigorous criteria of accomplishments, determination, leadership, talents, and potential in spite of challenging educational and financial circumstances.

- Waived $500 enrollment/deposit confirmation fee
- Free seven-week college summer transitional program at ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ (includes tuition, housing, and meals, social events, trips, and more)
- Earn graduation credits for courses passed during the summer; ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ Literature Core requirement will be fulfilled
- On campus housing for four years

Yes. All McCrory-Francis Scholars Program students will attend Orientation Session #4 from June 30-July 2, 2024.
Courses, campus housing, meals, social events and trips are free. Students should bring personal spending money for any additional needs during the program (ie., buying personal items, eating off-campus).
Each Saturday, all students will take local trips planned by staff to various points of interest in the Greater Boston area. In previous years, activities have included the Boston Duck Tour, a tour of Fenway Park, and the Boston Food Bank. McCrory-Francis Scholars have also organized talent shows, sports tournaments and more. These trips and activities are important in building community, developing friendships, and gaining exposure to the New England area.
Prior to accepting your offer from ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ, you must speak with the coordinator of the McCrory-Francis Scholars Program to obtain permission to miss any portion of the summer transitional program. Please contact us at mccrory-francisscholars@bc.edu
Due to the academic demands of the program and the activities planned, McCrory-Francis Scholars may not work during the program dates.
Students are expected to participate in ALL activities and events including Saturday excursions. Students may check out for the weekend following the Saturday excursion and return to campus by 6:00pm on Sunday. In addition, there will be one weekend during the program designated as an Open Weekend allowing students to check out after their last obligation on Friday and return to campus by Sunday at 6:00 pm.
