Professor O鈥橬eill was the co-founder of the Irish Studies Program at 涩里番下载. His research concentrates on the interaction of traditional agricultural societies and a growing world economy, with a special focus upon pre-famine Ireland. He is currently involved in a village-level study of popular and elite understandings of the social, gender, and economic dynamics involved in the commercialization of Irish society, 1750-1820.
