Marcie Pitt-Catsouphes

Marcie Pitt-Catsouphes, a professor at ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ's School of Social Work and the school's associate dean for faculty development and academic affairs, received a Special Lifetime Achievement Award from the Work and Family Researchers Network (WFRN) at the organization's 2018 conference held June 21-23 in Washington, D.C.

The WFRN is a University of Pennsylvania-based international membership organization of interdisciplinary work and family researchers that promotes knowledge and understanding of work and family issues among the community of global stakeholders.

"This award is issued in recognition of Marcie's extraordinary contributions to work-family scholarship, to the work-family community, and to translating scholarship into practice," said Kathleen Christensen, WFRN's co-president.Ìý "She has spent much of her career committed to developing work-family scholarship, to influencing practice, and to building the vibrant work-family research community that exists today.Ìý This award is a small token of our deep appreciation of her leadership, scholarship, and unstinting generosity of spirit."

WFRN's predecessor organization -- the Sloan Work and Family Research Network, an online destination for work and family research underwritten by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation -- was founded by Pitt-Catsouphes in 1997, and WFRN evolved from her groundbreaking work.

Pitt-Catsouphes holds joint appointments at the ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ's Carroll School of Management and the business school at London's Middlesex University. From 2014-17, she was the director of ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ's doctoral program in social work.
