In an impressive debut, Sam Gray '19 finished 65th overall in a field of more than 30,000 official entrants at the 121st running of the Boston Marathon on April 17.

He completed the formidable race—his second-ever marathon—in two hours, 31 minutes and 10 seconds.

“I nailed it, pretty much," he told at the conclusion of the race. Prior to attending ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ, the North Hampton, NH, native was a cross-country star at Phillips Exeter Academy. Despite his strong performance, after running two marathons in six months, he said he plans to focus more on 10Ks in the immediate future.

Now a theology and economics double major in the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences, Gray also has artistic talents; he designed a t-shirt for participants of the s’Upper T Club, an initiative sponsored by ɬÀï·¬ÏÂÔØ's Loyola House residence. Students in the club have dinner together in Boston at restaurants near different T station stops.
